Free Printable Calendar Generator
Pick a month, how many to print and your paper, add your own dates, then download the calendar as a PDF.
What is a Printable Calendar Generator?
A printable calendar generator lays out month grids you can print and write on, for a fridge, a classroom wall or a planner. This one draws each month on its own page, starting the week on Sunday or Monday, and writes your own dates, such as birthdays or term days, straight into the right boxes.
Choose the first month, how many months to print, the paper size and orientation, and the day the week starts. Add events one per line with their date, and each lands in its day, shrinking to fit when the box is small. The preview shows every page exactly as the PDF will print it, and the check lists anything that didn’t fit.

Pick the Months
Choose the first month and how many to print.
Set the Layout
Choose the week’s first day, the paper and the orientation.
Add Your Dates
Below a blank line, write one event per line, such as 2026-09-14 Dentist.
Download the PDF
Check the pages, then download and print at 100% scale.
Calendar Specs, Checked
Each row is a calendar spec of the kind people print every month, from a school term to a year of blank grids, plus specs with mistakes. Each answer is this tool’s check: the pages, every month’s size and events, and any problem it found.

Calendar Settings
The settings sit at the top of the text box as a name, a colon and a value, one per line. The menus write the same lines, so you can mix the two freely. These are the settings this generator reads and what each accepts.
month
The first month to print, as year and month: 2026-09.
“How do you start in March 2027?”
months
How many months to print, from 1 to 12, one per page.
“How do you print a whole year?”
start
The first day of each week: sunday or monday.
“Which start do most of Europe use?”
paper
letter for US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) or a4 (210 × 297 mm).
“Which paper is 210 mm wide?”
orientation
landscape (the default) gives wider boxes; portrait gives taller ones.
“Which gives more room for long event names?”
Events
Below a blank line, one per line: a date in YYYY-MM-DD form, a space, then the text.
“How do you add a birthday on 3 June?”
Choosing a Layout
A calendar that will be written on by hand needs room, while one pinned to a wall needs to be read from across the room. These choices change how much space each day gets and how the month reads at a glance, so it’s worth picking them with the calendar’s job in mind.
Landscape for Writing
Seven columns across the long edge give each day a wider box for notes.
Portrait for Binders
Portrait pages fit ring binders and planners, with taller boxes.
Five or Six Weeks
Months that span six weeks get shorter rows, so plan big events in roomy months.
Monday Starts
A Monday start keeps Saturday and Sunday together at the end of the row.
A Year at a Time
Twelve pages print as one PDF, ready for a year of a family calendar.
Printing It Right
Most printing problems come from the print dialog rather than the calendar itself. A couple of settings there decide whether the grid lines up with the page edge and whether every day stays readable once it leaves the printer.
Actual Size
Print at 100% or actual size, not fit to page, so margins stay even.
Match the Paper
Pick A4 or Letter here to match the paper in the printer.
Grey Boxes
Days outside the month are shaded lightly, which prints well even in black and white.
Double-Sided
Print months back to back to halve the paper for a year.
Heavier Paper
Card stock stands up better on a wall or a fridge.
Sunday or Monday?
Whether a week starts on Sunday or Monday depends on where you live and what the calendar is for. Both are correct, and the choice only changes which column comes first, but a calendar that matches local habit is easier to read at a glance.
United States and Canada
Wall and desk calendars usually start on Sunday.
Europe and ISO 8601
Most of Europe, and the ISO 8601 standard, start the week on Monday.
Work Planning
A Monday start keeps the working week together on the left.
Family Calendars
A Sunday start puts the weekend at both ends of the row.
Matching Other Calendars
Use the same start as the planner or app the calendar sits beside.
Calendar Pitfalls
Mistakes that leave dates missing or in the wrong place on the printed page, most of which the check view catches before you print.
Dates in Other Formats
Write 2026-09-14, not 14/09 or Sept 14, so the date is never ambiguous.
Events Outside the Range
A date in a month you aren’t printing is skipped. The check lists it.
Too Much in One Day
Long notes shrink to fit, down to a point; beyond that, shorten them.
Wrong Paper Size
Letter pages printed on A4 lose a strip at the bottom, and the reverse.
Scaling in the Print Dialog
Fit to page shrinks everything and shifts the margins.
Non-Latin Text
The PDF’s built-in font can’t draw Greek, Cyrillic or Asian scripts.
When to Use a Printable Calendar
Whenever a shared paper calendar works better than an app, because everyone can see it at once or write on it with a pen.
Family Planning
Print the month with birthdays, appointments and school dates.
Classrooms
Mark term dates, trips and tests for a whole class to see.
Shift Rotas
Write who’s on each day and pin it in the staff room.
Habit Tracking
Cross off each day of a goal on a blank month.
Event Planning
Lay out the weeks before a wedding, move or launch.
